I am the same - Sam and I met 3 black working cockers in the park on Friday!   :D
Dogs are natural optimists and believe if they stare hard enough and long enough, the icing on the cake could be theirs.

I do that too!  I always stop people with cockers and talk to them; the moment you say, "Oh I have cockers" it's like you've known each other for years! :005:

Yep, enbarrassingly we shout "Spangle!" in this household everytime we see one on TV, or out and about which is extremely rare in New England. I even rewound Cash in the Attic on BBC America to show husband James the cocker who featured momentarily!!

V. v sad.

I say hello to every spaniel variety we meet...come to think of it I stop to talk to most dog owners!

In cafe's walking anywhere I tell everyone with a cocker I have one at home!
Cocker owners are in the main nice people.

Me too! On Sunday OH went to a local lake to do some Scuba diving training, i obviously went along as surface support with Roxy. Whenever we're out and meet a cocker and their owner they're always so friendly.  :shades:  Anyway on Sunday i'm almost positive i met a cocker who is featured on the 'Keladity' website 'Bliss'. I was too embarressed to ask her owner but she was the spitting image of her, an absolute treasure....If it was her i'm dead chuffed for recognising her..............!  :D

Me too, if I'm in the car I  always say to the kids 'Oh there's a cocker'
Trouble is the only reply I get now is 'I just knew you were going to say that'
Can't understand why they don't get as excited as me.   >:(

Oh yes, always spotting them! I always know if Ali's seen one in a mag or on tv as she always says to the dogs "oh DEAR, what's THAT? It's one of YOUR lot!"  :005:

I love it out on walks as you can always spot them a mile off, no other dogs shuffle along like cockers... :luv:

yup, same here
Daughter (age eight) spotted a photo of Roald Dahl in the paper yesterday and guess what  :shades:..............he had a cocker with him  :luv:.
We do the same with Springers too (don't forget that Harry is a cross between the two ( :police:) so we have a foot in both camps so to speak  :005:).
Harry the Sprocker - crossbreed I know, but still gorgeous !

Yep. I am always spotting Cockers or any spaniels really.

We nearly got thrown out of PAH earlier this week for stalking a woman with a puppy, because we couldn't decide if it was a cocker or not.  We didn't ask her either because she was giving us funny looks!

Guilty I do it all the time.  I stop the car & run after people as well  :o :o

The thing is it's rubbed off on my two kids and OH as well.

12 year old daughter gets the bus to school & she cocker spots all the time !  Me & 5 year old cocker spot on the way to school.   OH is a postie & knows all the cockers in the area

I "spotted" Maddy before she became mine  ;) I even stopped my car to get out and speak to her owner.
I was totally in love at first sight, with Maddy not the owner  :005:
About a month later I found the pups I had been waiting for were not going to happen.
Got totally desperate and rang about a "17 week old cocker bitch" in my local paper. It turned out to be the puppy I had met, she only lived on next street to me, her owner said on the phone "do you have a blue estate car" which I did at the time, she recognised my voice (not sure if that is good or bad  :005:)
I shot round Maddy decided she was coming home with me, her first Mummy and Daddy see us out walking so say they have best of both worlds, they couldn't keep her but still see her well and happy. Yep I still "cocker spot" not managed to bring anymore home though
