Heavenly walkies
« on: October 20, 2007, 04:11:17 PM »
..this afternoon, round the village next door. A bit of woods, a bit of field, a bit of lane and a bit of quiet village road - Bracken was an angel, not a pheasant to be seen (watching the rugby perhaps?) and pleasantly warm with the sun shining down on us - we took the MIL along for an airing, shes terribly fit and active <sigh>

Wonder why I didnt get a dog last year?..or the year before? ..... :shades:

anyone else had a nice walkies today? :D

Yes I have just got back from the farm where Fern was born. Fields and woodland as far as one can see. Blue sky and brilliant sunshine. Quite a few pheasant and partridge about, Fern will flush but not chase thankfully and she seems to have learnt that I prefer her to leave the youngsters alone. Several rabbits had a narrow escape this afternoon though  :shades:.

Yep - we've been to the beach - Barry Island - this morning. A lovely crisp cold and sunny morning.

Jasper met a girlie cocker who looked just like a female version of him - but she was not in the slightest bit interested and just barked when he tried to play with her :shades:

We too always wonder what we did with ourselves before we had Jasper ..... and why we didn't get one sooner.

Not for me either sadly, Jarvis is still mourning the loss of his manly bits so was treated to a 10 minute on lead stroll around the block. ::) Roll on Monday!

I wish we had.  Sam got attacked in the park this morning by another dog when OH had him out.  He's ok, no serious damage, but apparently he yelped and yelped.  OH gave other dog owner what for!!   >:(

Pool Sam, hope he is O.K

Had a great walk with my two round a wooded park in glorious warm sunshine this afternoon, and I was really impressed when Milly came back to 2 peeps of the whistle after she spotted and started to chase a couple of crows little

yep, we went to aberavon beach and took my nephew too. he's scared of dogs but has been really good the last few times he's seen sam. on the way there connor run through a list of dos and don'ts. me and OH were in stiches,

1. if he bites you just say uh, uh and he'll stop. :005:
2. don't shout at him because it doesn't work. :005:
3. when he's off the lead call him in a happy voice, then he'll come back :005:
4. when we have food, don't give sam any, once he's had some he'll keep coming for more. :005:
5. and don't forget he's a little rat bag ph34r :005: (my OH calls sam that!!!)

he reeled them off just like that. jack my nephew was really serious, taking it all in :005:

we were out for hours there's a really nice park there to me and OH have a good rest on the wall while the two boys tured themselves out even more

Better late than never, we had a wonderful walk today. :D Plonked Indie in a sling and went off to the forest for nearly 2 hours, Jarvis was angelic, played nicely with a dog we bumped into, said hello to a toddler on a walk with someone, and came back when called even though i only had biscuit treats. :D :D :D

(He did woof at a few horses ph34r but even then he came back when called so i could put him onlead to walk past them. :D)

Coco and I have had lots of lovely walkies the last few day.  :luv:

Reminded me of what I thought was going to be a heavenly walkies a few weeks back.  I had Sunny, the Bernese mountain dog staying and we all went to one of my fave places - a huge meadow surrounded by woods with fab views, full of buttercups and pretty flowers.  The sun was shining and I was just thinking "this is the life".  Suddenly a swarm of horseflies attacked us and just would not leave us alone.  They were flying up my sleeves, landing on the dogs and biting  >:( - nightmare  >:D  We had to dash into the woods to lose them.  Story of my life  ::)  :005:
