Size of a dog
« on: October 22, 2007, 11:56:58 AM »
Hi, this may sound like a silly questions, but when measuring the height of a dog is it from the floor to the top of the dogs head?  For some reason I think I read somewhere that it may be from the floor to the shoulder?

The reason I ask, is we are getting a puppy soon and so want to purchase a cage for carrying/transporting the dog and need to decide on the size, any advice would be greatfully received :)

I would suggest one that fits into the car or boot for transportation as you will want to use it when taking your puppy out in the car as new puppyl gets bigger. I think I bought medium size out of a choice of small medium and large  from Argos and this is fine   good luck with your new pup   ps I think measurements are from shoulder to floor.

Hi Val.cuz

Thanks for that, yeah dogs are measured to the shoulder, I finally found it somewhere and thinking about it, it makes sense.  Just need to work our which cage will be best :)

I may be wrong but i think most people go with a 36" crate. :D
