Our puppy
« on: November 06, 2007, 07:45:18 PM »
Hello there,
We have been logging on to COL for the past few weeks and have been enjoying reading and looking at everyone elses photos.
We have finally got round to putting on some photos of our new puppy Skye. We got her in september and she has been keepng us busy!
She is doing very well with house training and she goes to puppy socialisation classes on a Wednesday evening.
We are very proud of her! Is that normal?

PS the breeder told us not to let her go up and down stairs.... to allow time for her bones and hips to develop.
Does anyone know at what age you should allow a puppy to attempt the stairs?
PPS ...you may notice we are having trouble trying to resize our photos!!! sorry

She's beautiful  :luv: :luv:

We've started to let Betty  go down the stairs sometimes and she's almost 6 months. I carry her down occasionally but she's quite heavy now. I wouldn't mind knowing if that's ok as well.

Ahh how lovely, Shadow is 15 weeks and runs up and down the stairs we have tried to stop him blocking them off etc etc but he just thinks there is something great going on up there.  Hope he wont be damaged by it :embarassed:

Skye is beautiful.  :luv:

Try to avoid contact with stairs until 6 months or more, I agree.

She is beautiful.

We have a 2 1/2 year old blue roan called Buddy.

We used a stair gate for his first year with us but we let him run up at bedtime and run down in the mornings once he got a bit heavy to carry..

Awww she is adorable, Callie is 5months and we let her go up and down the stairs (only morning and night really) now but we did try and stop her as much as possible until about 4 months, after that it was hard to stop her!
