I was told my puppy has an overshot jaw....?!?!?!

I took Dear Charlie to the vets and she told me he had a slightly overshot jaw.... does thiws mean I won't be able to Show him? I don't mind but just wanted to know if this is the case?

I'm guessing your puppy is still very youg - in which case it might correct itself. If it doesnt, you could show him but he would be penalised for it. He shoudln;t be used for breeding purposes with this type of fault.

They do often correct but it won't affect him being a happy healthy dog.

Hi there  :blink:

I know abs nothing about showing so cant aid you on that, but if it is any consolation my terrier Poppie who I no longer have had a slight undershot jaw when she was a pup and it corrected itself as she grew and developed. Your wee ones might too  ;)

My mum's Cavalier Katy had an overshot jaw.

She was the best dog in the world!   :luv:

My pup Dave had a slightly different problem in that his lower jaw was too narrow and one of his puppy lower canines was growing into the roof of his mouth  :'( BUT it's sorted it's self out, his jaw has grown bigger and both adult lower canines now sit nicely outside his upper jaw.. :)
