I've just had a delivery from the butchers, i have, chicken wings, turkey necks, kidneys, scraps of fat and bones and marrow bones, along with some chicken mince, pork/beef mince, and tripe that i'd bought elsewhere. Is that all i need? :huh: I know they need veggies too, but i haven't got a blender yet, so i'm just giving them grated for the moment.

Also does £27 for a small chest freezer full sound like a fair price? Being veggie i have no idea. :huh:

You won't need much of the fat though, so if it is in blocks of just fat you might as well get rid of it or make bird treats out of it!


So.....just how did you manage to sweet talk your butcher and where is he?

I may get you to phone my local butcher for me and try the same trick because I am having no joy whatsoever with any around here!

The fat is just the cut off bits from what they sell, so is basically a bin bag full of bones with meaty/fatty scraps still on them.

Really stupid  question i'm sure, but are turkey necks quite dark? i have two loys of dark looking things, i'm guessing one lot is kidney and t'other lot is necks but i expected them to look more chickeny! :005:

 :lol: He's the only butcher locally, and my only sweet talking was by mentioning the fact that i would be a regular customer. ;) He even bagged it up into 1lb bags and delivered it. :D

..I would haggle on the price though, on principle!  Even if you only get a couple of quid off!
