smacking their chops - do yours do this?
« on: May 09, 2008, 02:16:56 PM »
You know in cartoons where you see people/animals really smacking their chops together in anticipation of some scrummy food?

Bella really does this and it's soooo cute, sometimes I have to prolong giving her whatever it is just so I can watch it. The things that really get her going are if she knows she's got breast of lamb or mackeral for breakfast, or best of all, a nice, juicy bone (ooh the look on her face, sheer joy, licking her lips and her little chops smacking away  :luv: :luv:).

Zorro doesn't do it (probably too anxious that SOMEONE WILL NICK HIS FOOD  ::)  When he has a bone he takes it to his secret spot - in the middle of the lawn  :lol2: - and stands there barking at it for a few minutes before tucking in, just in case...).

I wish Alfie had the sense to smack his chops, if I'm preparing food for them or I'm eating something particularly good he'll sit there with the slabbers tripping him, it's disgusting  ph34r  He gets big strands of drool hanging down from the corners of his mouth and if I don't wipe them for him they drip onto the floor  :P :005:

Buddy just dribbles all over the floor. (He used to dribble over bitches too, but that's another story!)

He also stomps his front feet. It's very cute and I keep meaning to catch it on video.

Try to get some vid of Bella too. I'd love to see her!

You're on - will have to see if the butcher has a nice juicy bone for her tomorrow...  ;)  I'd love to see Buddy's stomping!  :lol2:

Zorro tends to just try and do somersaults when it's dinnertime, he does know that he really should sit and he tries so hard, bless his cotton socks, but sometimes it really is too much to bear, so he's a bit like those wind-up toys that sit there for a while then suddenly flip over in a somersault.  :lol2:

Oh yes, Jerry does it - it's sooo funny. As soon as I start preparing his bowl, he'll sit down (but wiggle around, his bum hardly touching the ground), smacking his chops, shuffling his feet, eyes getting very big....FOOD!!! You're right, it's really like out of a cartoon, I thought that too already  :luv: :luv: :005:

I've never actually noticed our dogs smacking their chops..........Domino's eyes light up at the thought of food & the labs have just sat & dribbled & drooled for England leaving a large slimey pool on the floor!!
