So sorry to hear about Monty, it sounds like you all have him the best life a dog could wish for. You are bound to miss him, they are such a huge part of our lives. Our family dog died at the age of 17, about 7 yrs ago now, but I still think of her often.

So sorry for your loss. Thinking about you. The pain of losing a dog is horrendous but time will make it easier. In time when you think about him you will be able to smile again and remember the happy times with him.  :-* xxx

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss :'( made me cry :'( I lost my lovely red cocker "Oscar" a year ago, it was an awful time :'( I still miss him but after a while you will start to think of the good times you had with him and begin to smile again :luv:

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our first cocker, Bobby, some time ago, but I still miss him.  :'( Some days more than others.

So sorry to hear of your loss (and your mums). 

We went through it 10yrs ago in June with our first cocker - Katie #1 who was 13yrs.  We had her when my dad left the R Marines when I was 14yrs.  My mum said didn't want to get another, as bringing her home from the vet to be placed in the garden was sooo hard to do.  (She's asleep between the apple trees and under a bench I bought my parents for one of their w. anniversaries).

My mum buys plants for my dad to place on her, but my mum still longs to get a water proof cover to place over the top of her resting area when it rains, as Katie hated getting wet. My mum still gets upset when talking about her, but when you love someone so much, you do I think.

4 mths after Katie passed, we got Morgan and then Dylan.  It did help ease the pain, but neither could ever replace Katie #1.

You must always remember that he had a lovely life, and he was lucky to have been brought home to such a lovely home.  Nobody could have loved him more than you and your family.

Time is a great healer, and whilst it's hard to believe that now, you will put to the back of your mind the events of yesterday and will always remember him how he was in his time with you.

Thank you so much everyone for the kind messages of support.  I actually feel a little bit better today, after a few tears last night.

All of your cockers and other pets are so lucky to have such kind a warm hearted mummys and daddys!
