Don't know what's worse, the fact that we have snakes in our yard (I lived in denial for the last 2 years), or that Jerry thought it was a nice toy.
Our yard backs upon some woods and a creek which Jerry can climb down to have a swim (about 100 times a day

) and since it's nice and cool in that corner he likes to take naps there as well. I saw him fall asleep there today and when I looked out of the window some 5 minutes later he was suddenly doing this funny dance around something. I've seen him do this before, when he once found a turtle on a walk, sort of jumping back and forth, torn between curiosity and fear..
So when I came and checked it was this huge big black snake, all coiled up, head up, charging at him, very distressed. Did I mention I have a bit of a phobia due to an unfortunate watersnake "incident" in Italy when I was 8? I really had trouble dragging him away, he was really having fun, the little idiot.
We do have venomous snakes here, fortunately this was not one...
