Bailey is limping
« on: July 24, 2008, 09:17:05 PM »
He is limping and I dont know whats happened to him, we went to Tesco came back and he limped towards us when we opened the door. OH as checked for grass seeds in his foot but its clear. He sort of growled when he rubbed his shoulder but not in a vicious way, just as if to say ouch that hurt ph34r  :shades: Can a dog have any pain killers at all (human ones)? ph34r
Will take him to vets in morning if he's any worse.......not looking forward to that as he hates the vet :005:

I think you can give a half or quarter aspirin but I wouldnt give anything until you see a vet. Just rest him for tonight. Might just be a pulled muscle and he'll probably be fine by morning.

Scooby had a limping session a few weeks ago, we just got him to rest as much as possible and he was fine within 24 hours.

I know what you mean though we do worry about our babies  :luv:

We were advised by a vet from years ago to give our old girl 1/2 a parecetomol (sp?) if she was under the weather, but when we mentioned this to our vet of 14yrs he said that this can effect their liver, so he gave me a bottle of metacalm to use instead.

Melacalm is very handy to have in their cupboard as when Henry was limping a few months ago I put 1ml on a digestive and the following morning he was back to his old self.

Sounds like he may have strained his shoulder if he's sensitive to touch it, so best get it checked out.

Hope he's ok  :-*

Mummy loves her angels - but they're not angels all the time - They love to chew and charge about - but mummy doesn't mind

Been reading through here, and if its a grass seed in his paw would I be correct in thinking that he would be licking it? He's not He is chunnering away to himself when you touch his paw too, I think it may be a grass seed, OH cut the lawn this afternoon.

Bailey is quite quiet and not really himself, maybe a daft question but what are the symptoms of a grass seed in the foot ph34r?
