We used one on my old dog and it irritated her neck.

Wouldn't use one on Sam.  Just my opinion.
Dogs are natural optimists and believe if they stare hard enough and long enough, the icing on the cake could be theirs.

Sorry, can't help you there as all mine are frontlined - well to be honest 2 at the moment and baby katie will be when old enough, have not used flea collars for years tho cos I have an allergic reaction to the chemicals, that I don't get with the spot on
Remembering Smudge 23/11/2006 - 3/8/2013, Branston 30/8/14 - 28/10/22, and Minstrel 24/6/13 - 13/8/24 all now at the Bridge.

I used a flea collar on my last cocker, Sophie.  I used to change it every 3 months and she never had a flea in 14 years.

I now use Frontline on Ellie, because everyone else seems to use it and the Vet recommended it, but I am not really happy about putting chemicals on her skin, although I suppose flea collars have similar chemicals impregnated into them.  Saying that, I only use Frontline everyone other month from April to September and not at all in winter and Ellie has never had a flea either.

Are some dogs more prone to fleas than others?
