Liver was one of the original Cocker colours going back to the late 19th century - it's not new but the change to calling it "chocolate" is relatively new (maybe the last 25 years or so). There are still "old-timers" (not meant to sound rude but couldn't think of a better word) who maintain that "liver" is the correct description for the colour but each to their own - chocolate as a name for this colour is here to stay now :D

but look what i came across on my travels >:D >:D >:D

Cocker x weim who "we may use to breed miniature silver labs, her puppies should look just like silver labs and she carries the silver factor"

Maybe i'm being dim but how the hell do you get a "lab" out of one of them? >:D

Flippin' heck.... >:D >:D >:D >:D That makes me so miserable.. presumably they are going to breed that poor creature back to a lab in the hope that some of the puppies will throw up the Weim colour gene... All the best reasons I can think of to breed a litter of puppies!!!!! Why they decided to breed a cocker to a Weim to facilitate this I have no idea - maybe to keep the size down???? Blurry hell >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

I'm wondering if the 'Silver cocker' is actually a blue roan?????
