How is little Indy this morning Jeanette
Jo
Indie seems fine - she hadn't gone for a number two whilst she was at the vets at all but they released her as she had perked up loads. She promptly did a poo in the garden when she got home and was disappointed to see blood in the poo still
Hoping its just the last of it though - it was a different vet who was looking after her from the emergency one on Sunday and she thinks Indie was ill due to a bug whereas the other vet thought it was a reaction to metacam. Apparently lots of dogs have been brought in with the same symptoms which is why the latest vet thinks its the same bug, she did say the name but I can't remember it. She's on a course of tablets for 8 days and then I have to take a stool sample in for them to check for this particular type of bacteria.
When I picked her up from the vets, a puppy walked in and she wanted to play so definitely back to the old Indie. She has been running round the garden chasing the cat over the fence
and so am trying to stop her jumping up. I'd rather have it this way though then it being so ill.
No diarrhoea or sickness since she's been home, she stinks of doggies though
but can't bath her as cannot get the wound wet - it must be the smell from the kennels at the vets as other dogs were in there. One thing though, I am so glad that Indie is crate trained and she still uses her crate at home as can imagine if she wasn't, she would have been very scared and anxious being left in the crate at the vets. She's never been kenneled before.
Whatever was wrong with her, its not the spay wound to all who have read this and this is healing very nicely as long as I can keep her from biting the wound.
So glad she's home and roll on next week when she has her stiches out.
