My first proper attempt
« on: September 01, 2008, 09:32:56 PM »
Hi
Well what do you all think?
Be gentle this is my first attempt at a proper cut, Sam was my guinea pig, my sisters dog.
I am not sure I got the feathering quite right on his front legs. Any comments and helpful hints will be most welcome.

He looks really good well done!

The only thing I would have done through personal preference would have been to have thinned the ears down a bit but as I said just my personal preference!

I agree with Kelly's comment but apart from that you've done a brilliant job, well done you! :003:

Sam looks fantastic, how long did it take you to do? I'll have to learn how to do it myself - Gari looks like a big curly bush just now! :005:

Not meaning to pinch this thread, how do you thin the ears down.   I can't remember what the expert did.    :shades:

And I think he looks great  :luv:

You could either clip them using a No 10 Blade or use thinning scissors, go down about half way down the ear.

Using the thinning scissors you tidy about one third of the way down the ear and also on the insides of the ear too - very important

ETA Just seen Kelly's post, so how far down you go is a matter of choice/preference  :005:

Lovely job! i agree about thinning the ears and I would also thin a little off the tail too. (easier to clean up) other wise.... You go!!! great job.
