Groomed with a knife and fork
« on: October 04, 2008, 09:46:26 PM »
I must get this off my chest.
Took Ruby to a groomer recommended by a family member.oh took Ruby with a short friendly letter from me telling her exactly what i wanted, with strict instruction not to shave her,not to touch her tail, that she has very long quicks and JUST trim her feathers and Not to cut her wig off amongst other things.I did this in the hope there would be no room for error after reading various stories on here.

When oh returned with her i thought he got the wrong animal,i thought he had come home with a shorn spotted sheep  :o  :o :o
I was speechless,i dont think she has been shaved as im sure i can see scissor marks, she has a visable line along her side where her skirt starts.
Her ears have been blunt cut at the bottom, and are wonky
On her throat she had long hair that has been cut straight across
The thing that has upset me most is i said trim feathers..she has cut them right off with what looks like a knife and fork, its chunks lumps bumps it looks awful
her wig now looks like it has a parting
and she told oh "i didnt do her tail",but she had snipped the very end off,so now she has a blunt bit iyswim

so  >:D   :o   :'(
I know it will grow back, and if i can face it will post some pics
People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.

Maybe she's not as bad you think  :-\   Indie's feathers are quite short but I don't think she looks horrible.    Is it just a shock cos she's a lot shorter.    Post some pics and I bet she's not as bad you think.   If she is, then don't worry, it'll grow in a few weeks.   :D

I went to a groomer recommended by a friend (her dog looked fantastic), but had the same experience, expressley said no clipping, but she did anyway.  Wish I'd stuck with my original groomer, they're worth their weight in gold.

Oh Toni, so sorry to hear you and Ruby have had a bad experience.

If you want i can give the details of the groomer i use for Roxy. She is a little expensive but does a brilliant job and was groomer of the year in 2004. When i take Roxy i tell her specifically what i want and she does it to the tee. PM me if you want her no? She'll even let you pop in to the salon and have a look and you can discuss anything with her even over email. ;)
