We have a 42x27 for Bonnie Boo, she is a working cocker on the larger size than some show ones Ive seen .this is just about perfect for her bed and cushion and all her toys i don't think i would be happier with anything smaller

I bought one off this seller, he was just superb!

I have this crate in my car ( 32") . Just remember that when they are unsupervised in the crate to ensure they are not wearing their collars, there are a few little hooks etc that the collar can easily get caught on

Read up somewhere that a 30inch crate is large enough for a cocker spaniel ….we decided to play safe and go for the larger one! This one is 36 inch and not the 42inch ….more than large enough for her

I agree that if it's for inside the house then a larger one is better.

Billy has 32" in the car but I wouldn't leave him in it in the house it's way too small

yes i think were going 42 , i would never have gone as small as 30 !!
he will only have a collar on when out walking , i dont like them on all the time , so need to worry there.

We've got a 36 inch and its massive, could have got away with a 30 inch.   IMO 42 inch is way too big for a cocker, 36 inches is more than big enough.

im all undecided again now  :005:
how hard can it be  :005:
i would like it big enough for a bed and some puppy mats / paper for those accidents that will happen over night for the first weeks :-\
he will only sleep in it at night and go in when im out (usually no more than an hour a day in total )

Yep 36 inches, Indie has her bed in there and toys.    She never ever went toilet in her crate.

If it was me I'd go for as big as my house would allow, although if it's only for a maximum of an hour then I guess you could go smaller. There is absolutely no way I'd leave Billy in the one he has now which is 32" as he can't lie down fully stretched, and this is how he likes to sleep. It's ok for the car as our journeys are rarely more than an hour. However Billy is a fully grown adult, a pup won't need as much room as this at first.

Woody has a 36 inch crate, it is pleanty big enough, I have a 48 inch one for my rottie and it is enormous, I tryed it out for woody and he looks lost in it and doesn't like it as much.

Was going to add, any bigger and you are creating extra space for his own toilet area away from the bed unless you are planning to use dividers in the crate to make it smaller.
