Aww, I hope he feels better in himself tomorrow  :-* :luv:

Do you think he's feeling sorry for himself because the vet has him in a 'pink' bandage.  It can't do anything in the manly stakes with Lenny seeing him dressed up as a girlie :005:

:005: Could be  :005: I did comment to the vet about the colour but he gave me a funny look  ph34r  :005: Oh and apparently he thinks Alfie is fat  :o No way is asbo fat  ::) God help him if he could see Lenny  :005:

hope he's feeling better tomorrow - didn't realise he was still on steroids for the allergy  :-\

Steroids stop the itching but don't solve the actual allergy - have they run allergy tests?  I would be tempted to contact a homeopathic vet on that one - they seem to get to the bottom of allergies really well  ;)

Hope is poorly leg is feeling better tomorrow, bless him  :luv: :luv: :luv:

Helen the vet suggested we waited to do allergy tests until he was 2  :-\ the steroids being a one off to stop the possible cycle of itching etc. We were not happy tbh starting the steroids as we know only too well the complications with them but were at a loss at what else to do really as he was raw in his groin area  :'( That does seem to have settled now, we are trying our own process of elimination but that could take forever couldnt it  :-\

He also has had severe diawotsits for nearly two days now too  :'( The poor baby doesnt know whats happening, if I am honest I am worried sick about him  :'(

8 days now I think, 1 a day for the first week then every other day for the 2nd week. So we had just started tailoring it down to the 1 tablet  every two days. His 'bumps' are much better now due to him not scratching them so I hope to god thats it now  :-\ We have eliminated beef from his diet over the last few days to see if any more lesions occur in that time  He is due back to see the vet regarding this on Thursday next week anyway. I just hate pumping them with drugs  :-\

yeh I know what you mean about the drugs, it's scary isn't it  :-\ The break from the steroids will be telling for him - what's he fed on at the moment?

I was wondering if the dia-wotsit was a reaction to the steroids, but he's been on them a fair while for that to happen so I don't think it's that - you never know, it may be a stress reaction to Lenny (just the change of dynamics, am sure he's fine but his normality has been altered so he may be adjusting to that  ;) )

If you can get your hands on any manuka honey based antiseptic cream this may help with any remaining lesions.

give Alfie a :bigarmhug: from me  :luv: :luv: :luv: :luv:

He is fed on AG at the moment but one meal is barf, either beef, chicken or fish. He has been spotted pinching Lennys food  ::) so we have to stand moving bowls as they try to swap meals  :005: He is on RC but by golly I am getting pupster off that, the smell of little lennys poops are awful  ph34r

aaah - his diawotsit could be as a result of food stealing from his little brother too  :shades: :005:

sorry Patsy, I'm all over this thread asking you questions  ::)

Does your vet think the allergy could be food related?  If he does I would do elimination, but the first thing I would eliminate would be chicken - raw and also if it's in the kibble change to AG lamb and rice  ;)   Chicken seems to be the culprit in a lot of food allergies in dogs  (raw chicken used to go STRAIGHT through Jarvis, we re-introduced it when he was around 2 very gradually and he's fine on it now...).

Hope you can sort him out, and tell him the pink bandage is not affecting his street cred with me  :luv: :luv: :luv:

Did'nt know he was on steroids, I don't think homeopathics work with them.

No, I am glad you are asking, it makes me think then  :005: He is on AG lamb and rice currently, tbh the vets hasnt indicated anything really as the culprit. Probably due to a little red herring i.e that he flared up whilst we were having building work and a kitchen installed, when that finished he seemed to clear up. Unfortunatly he flared up again a couple of weeks ago, which has made us reconsider the possible cause.  :-\ He does get a lot of chicken  ;) I will stop that asap then and see  :shades:

If he looks brighter tomorrow I will ruin his street cred with a photo of it  :005:
