Positive thoughts needed--congestive heart failure

Jewel (age 13 1/2) developed a cough over the weekend. Today she went to the vet and we had x-rays done, not good news. Her heart is quite enlarged and she has a grade 4 murmur, and a fair amount of fluid in her lungs. She has been started on lasix to take the fluid off the lungs, and elanapril to dilate the blood vessels in her extremeties to take the load off her heart.  :'(

She's not had a good day today, up till now everything has been as well as can be for a 13 year old, but this morning she didn't finish her breakfast and turned up her nose at her biskit  :o 

I just want her to be comfortable and feel safe and loved. I've only had her since last August when I took her on as a rescue, but I love her the same as if she'd been with me all her life  :luv:

Please send healing thoughts, the group energy of COL is amazing, and I'm happy to hear from others who have been through this

Sending all the positive thoughts we can from Cumbria...

...and hoping that Jewel was only off her breakfast this morning as her body adjusts to the medication.... could even be down to the change in the weather.

Your love and care of Jewel is clear from your post, I'm sure she feels very loved and we'll be keeping everything crossed that after a few days on the meds she starts to feel a lot better.  :blink:
