I took Gari to the vets today and the good news is that his heart and chest are fine, and the cough is just a very bad cough, apparently his throat sounded rough and his glands are up. The whining and grumbling are because he has a sore stomach, his abdomen is very tender to touch and he cried when the vet pressed it.

He has been given a steroid injection, antibiotics for the cough and anti-spasmodic tablets for his tummy pain. He is getting a reprieve from his boring renal diet and can have scrambled egg, and chicken and rice until he feels better. I made him some scrambled egg earlier, and pretended I was eating it (I actually was eating it, but it hurts my stomach!) so that he would want it - he wolfed it down and spat out the tablets!

So, it looks like he has come out in sympathy with me!
Oh, and BTW, I finally got a hospital appointment for the 23rd June. And, when I was at the GP's yesterday, she had received a hospital report that said I had an enlarged bile duct and a sludgey gallbladder, and had passed stones! But, still nobody will take it out!

She also said to go straight to A&E with the next big flare up, which I will, if I can get out of bed.
So, I am thankful that Gari doesn't seem too bad, but of course, being the terrible worrier that I am, I'm now panicking the stomach pain could be something serious.

We are both taking it easy today and cuddling up on the sofa.
