Sorry to hear this Penny, I didn't realise her other eye was bad. Once she's adjusted, I'm sure she'll be much happier now she's pain free.

Give her a hug from me

massive {{hugs}} for poor Ruby  (& you too :luv:)  Really sorry to hear about her eye problems & that she now blind after having her eye removed :'( .  As others have said, hopefully she is now free from pain & in time, learns to adjust & cope with life despite her disability :luv:

I'm reading & following your thread with interest Penny as my little Tinker will have her deformed eye (present since birth :luv: ) removed when she is spayed in a few months time.......I'm such a wuss when it comes to wounds/stitches etc so would be very interested in how you manage/cope etc (& how Ruby copes too  ;) )  Take care Lindsey & the girls x

So sorry to hear about Ruby's eye & your poor cat too. At least once the eye heals over, Ruby will be free from pain and will hopefully soon adjust to relying on her nose and her ears to get around (it's surprising how quick they do adjust :D)

Aww Penny Im so sorry to hear about Ruby's second eye!!

I do think dogs adapt much better than their owners tho and as long as furniture isnt moved around too much they manage not to bump into too many things.

Read some of the stories on here....some are very sad but also inspirational !!

With you as her mum guiding  her and helping her come to terms with it I'm sure she will running around on those welsh hills sooner rather than later  :luv:

How are the patients this morning? I hope you all had a reasonably comfortable night

Ed is as bright as a button - he recovered better from this bout of surgery even though it was more severe (last time he didn't want to go out at all but he keeps asking to go out now and he can't for another 2 weeks so he's lording it in my bedroom)

Roobs had a bad night - she whimpered all night and had restless sleep. I slept on the sofa and she stayed in the crate all night.

Part of it may be pain and the rest feeling uncomfortable - she hasn't eaten or drunk very much and it was difficult even getting her out for a wee. She did give me a little wag this morning though which was lovely. The cats are taking the p*** though as I wasgigin her the antibiotics wrapped in smoked ham and they kept trying to get at it - something they wouldn't do normally.

Am leaving her to herself for now rather than smothering her - may sound awful but I dont want to reinforce her dilemma. I have been doing the odd bit of TTouch though to help her.

Its so sad to see her like this when at the weekend she was out camping in the Brecons with 28 other dogs having a whale of a time - I know this will happen again but its sad as it shows how quickly things can just change.

I am so sorry to hear about Ruby, bless her  :luv:

I am sure it must be upsetting for you to watch her trying to come to terms with it.  But with a great mum like you I am sure it won't take too long.

Sending Ruby and you and Ed extra big hugs  :-*  :-*
