lip fold infection -update
« on: July 01, 2009, 09:19:46 PM »
orin went to the vets today and got some antibiotics as his infection had got worse despite me bathing it- I could not stand the smell!!!  ::)

she has said she deosnt want to give him lots of courses of pills and he hs had a health check and heart etc is fine so will be fine if he has an op should it reoccur,.  have got some hibiscrub too and will see what happens.  If does reoccure think i will have op done as he is so difficult to give pills to and she said it was a very simple op.

I don't blame you.

I would never go for surgery lightly, but sometimes it really is the best option. I hated the idea of Buddy being so sore for so long and all the antibiotics (and the smell and the discharge all over the house!).

It was a sad and sorry sight for a while, but after he healed he has never looked back. I am so pleased we got it done.

Thank you for posting that positive experience of the lip-fold op Annette.  My vet wants to do this for Till and I have been reluctant because I really don't want her to have to go through the surgery.  However, she has had 3 lots of anti-biotics since Christmas and is really smelly again now.  The Hibiscrub doesn't seem to help.  Maybe I should just get the op done and sort it out once and for all?  Poor Tilly, I feel so sorry for her  :'(
