Once you start thinking about it you realise there are loads of choking hazards around the house, for pets even without collars, and it's scary.
Years ago one of my rats didn't come when I called them for their dinner, I eventually found him all tangled up against one of my boots with the decorative cords of it round his neck, luckily still alive, but very stressed.

What a fright you must have had so glad she is ok now. Belle doesn't wear a collar at all in the house but that worries me too as she isn't microchipped yet , so if she got out she could get lost with no tag. Sometimes you don't know what to do for the best do you

Yep, have to agree it is a 50/50 thing with the collars I think, i did wonder at one time whether mine should wear them indoors and decided in the end that it is better for my peace of mind if they do, only in case they ran out for some reason (accidents happen - even in the most organised of households (which mine isn't).

Really makes you think doesn't it?
I used to always take Milly's collar off in the house, but admit she's been wearing it more frequently recently - again I was afraid of her getting out,
I remember my mum telling me about her neighbour, who left her puppy in the kitchen at night. In the night the pup had been jumping up and scratching at the door when a tragedy happened, its collar got caught on the door handle, and was found hanging the next morning. Horrific for all concerned, but especially the poor puppy. A lesson learnt.
Milly will definately be going to bed naked from now on.
Glad Buffy is ok after her fright, and a big well done to Domonic too.

What a relief that Dominic acted so quickly. I am so glad to hear that Buffy is OK.

Glad Buffy is ok.  It can so easily happen.  My two only have the collars when we go out walking, this was after a friend told me about how two of her labradors were playing in their outdoor kennel when one dog somehow got its leg stuck through the others collar.  If my friend hadn't been around she said it could have disasterous with either a broken leg or worse.

Very scarey, glad everything was OK 

It is not something I had ever even considered, I am more anxious that Molly could get  out of the front door with out her collar with no number to phone me if she did roam. I like to think she knows her way home as we walk locally but throw in a rabbit or food and who knows what she would do.
