Scratching the carpet…… again

i have been interested in these threads. I have not had any digging inside, but plenty randomly and excessively on occasions outside. Do the digging dogs have lots of chance to dig outside as well? Just interested to know whether it is the action of digging which is important to them or something about the carpet.

She doesn't really dig outside, the only time I have saw her do so is when she's visited the beach . I think it's probably something that I've inadvertantly reinforced so she knows she'll get attention if she does it, rather than her enjoying the action itself iyswim. She was in and out of the kitchen several times last night and has just started up again so I think this is something that's going to take time

She's been good the last hour or so, but she's exhausted which probably explains that I think tomorrow night will be the real test, wish me luck
