Thanks all for you kind words and support  :luv:

Poppy is a little princess who is impeccably behaved, loves cuddles and gives lovely kisses. She is generally quiet but does have moments of cheeky puppyness. My other dogs have accepted her readily and she is also enjoying her walks along the river.

The steroids do make her constantly hungry though, but the vet has allowed her the treat of a little cottage cheese and chicken and she is really enjoying that,,,

She is such a princess, it's heartbreaking,,,,

I've just caught up with this too. Terribly, terribly sad.  :'( :'(
Please give Poppy a hug & a kiss from us. You are a star giving her this wonderful taste of a super loving home in her time of need. I hope she continues to enjoy life & 'be' a puppy. She has the most adorable little face. Enjoy your cottage cheese, sweetheart.  :-* :-*

Lucky Poppy to have someone like you to spend the rest of her days with.

At least she will have quality time with someone who loves and cares for her.....................

Lots of love from us all. x

Have just read about her, so didn't get the chance to donate anything.  But, it brought my attention to other that might be at Many tears, so will donate anyway.

No longer in my arms, but forever in my heart, my girls at the Bridge, Lily and Freya. Xx

Poppy is doing really well at the moment,,,,She is putting weight on, is happy and energetic and is enjoying life  :luv:

She still has a slight cough, but copes well.

I'm trying so hard not to get attached but she is such a poppet it is difficult.

She doesn't know she is ill, or that she is going to lose her life to her illness. That makes me feel better.

I really try not to think about the person that bred her without any health checks on the parents, I try not to think about her owner who knew she was ill and did nothing, who let her sit a corner shaking with illness, and who said she didn't want her back when she was diagnosed as terminally ill. I try not to think about her body getting more and more poisoned every day. And I try not to think about what I will need to do for her when her little body can't cope anymore.

When she arrived I was so full of hope for a bright future. She was going to have her op and go off to a lovely forever home,,,

Poppy is now my dog in my heart. I love her as I do my own and I know she will now break all our hearts. But, I know she is very happy and is knowing love and cuddles for the first time in her short life, and that gives me great consolation,,,,,,It's weird, but I haven't cried for her because I know she feels well right now and will not be allowed to suffer,,,

Thank you so much for looking after her my heart broke when I first saw her. In many ways animals have the advantage over humans in that they know only quality of life and not quantity. She is so lucky now that she has that quality for whatever quantity she has left. Bless you :luv:

Lucky, lucky little girl.  I wish more people, out there, could read some of these posts.  We are all made to believe it is a horrible world, with lots of bad, greedy people.  When I read something like this, I just think........'Naaaaa, it's a great world.' :luv:
