I cut Flynn
« on: November 15, 2009, 12:02:47 PM »
I was trimming a knot behind his ear least night, he moved and I have cut a chunk out of him  :'( :'(

Not a little knick but a proper chunk, its about 1mm deep and the size of a 1p coin  :'( :'(

He didnt even flinch or yelp and I only knew I did it when I went to cut again and saw he was bleeding  :'(

I feel so so bad, I always end up doing these things to poor Flynn.

Since owning him I have accidently cut him, kicked him in the face, hit him hard in the face with a ball, hit him with the fridge door, kicked him in his ribs and stood on his paws and sat on him  :embarassed: :embarassed: :'( :'(

Not good when hes had such a hard start to life, I feel so bad things like this keep happening  :'(

He normally hides in his crate for a few hours after somethings happened so at least he didnt notice the cut, though I have no idea how

I always try and be so careful around him but will obviously have to try harder  :-\

Oh bless  :-* It was just an accident and these things can't be avoided. I have cut Lucy behind her ear before  ph34r
At least Flynn didn't seem to notice  ;) And all the other accidents were as a result of Flynn wanting to be near to you and if he didn't trust you he wouldn't want to be near you. Try not to worry too much  :-*  :-*

Don't beat yourself up, I cut Morgan's ear just the other day so you're certainly not alone. He gave a tiny yelp then kissed me  :luv: they're terribly forgiving fortunately  ;)

Poor Flynn - if he didn't flinch, perhaps it looks worse than is really is?

He knows he is loved 24/7.  Accidents happen, and this is all it was.  Sending cyber hugs to both of you. :luv:

 :lol2: :lol2:

That happens because as soon as I go "cuddles on sofa" all the dogs leg it through to the front room and Flynn runs in and will sit down right where Im about to sit so he can be the closest  :luv: He likes to sit behind me but wrapped around me if that makes sense  :luv: then he moves so that hes tucked into my arm  :luv:

Its like a race to the seat, problem is sometimes i think I have beaten him to it and he jumps up right as im sitting down  ::)

What were you cutting him with? A chainsaw??!! :005:
Only kidding, these things happen, I've lost count of the times I've caught Chops' ears and paws when trimming (no wonder he doesn't like me doing it!!) And as for standing on him, well, what does he expect when he's doing a damn good impression of my slippers?!! :lol2:

Poor Flynn, what a bad mummy. :lol2:

Use a large toothed comb when cutting out knots put it behind the knot so that you know everything you are cutting is just knot...no more accidents.

You couldn't possibly feel any worse than I did when I spilled boiling water on Indy   :'(

But they're so loving and forgiving, he probably thought you'd just pulled his knot, bless him.  :luv:

Please don't feel bad about it, these things happen. I've nicked William a few times and he never seems to mind, bless him.

If it's any consolation, somebody I know had a terrible accident last weekend with a racehorse that she looks after. She was in his stable and about to cut some loose threads off his rug when he suddenly swung round and caught the pointy end of the scissors in his chest  :o. The scissors nicked an artery and quantities of blood came spurting out. Louise shouted for someone to phone the emergency vet but had to stand for 45 minutes with her thumb plugging the hole to minimise the bleeding.

Luckily the horse was cooperative and is now absolutely fine.

Awww poor Flynn.. but don't feel bad, accidents do happen and our faithful friends are very forgiving! Forgive me but I could not help but laugh when reading your post, I had a vision like a scene from home alone!  :lol2: Hope he feels better.. :luv:
