would she not have a better chance of being rehomed if many tears covered her future vet bills?
being realistic future big bills is a lot to ask someone to take on especially if moneys tight.
i know lots of rescues will cover future vet bills for a existing problem owners couldn't get insurance for.

Awwwwww, bless her.  :luv: What a sweetie. The trouble is I'm one that would take them all in and have taken a fair few  :shades:, but I have to be realistic and know it's not possible. We hardly have the quiet, calm life she's looking for either.  :shades: :005: I really hope someone finds it in there heart to give this girl the loving forever home she needs with what ever time she has left. At least she is well looked after in the mean time. Bless you for the work you do. Your an

hi there i agree with crazy cocker gang, quite a few rescues do pay for medication for a dog that has an ongoing medical problem as it is part of the adoption agreement,i am sure this would make a difference to wether she is rehomed quickly or not, people do worry about the costings of vets bills when they take on a dog and would prefer a dog with no medical issues, it is really sad but unfortunately that s the way at the mo. when i first saw kilty i was very tempted but my oh reminded me of the vets bill that we would incurr.  i do hope she finds her forever loving home as she thoroughly deserves that after 6 years of breeding/   good luck kilty :luv: :luv:

I agree with Crazy Cocker Gang.  It may be putting people off offering Kilty a home not knowing how much future bills may be.

Can they not set up a fund for Kilty, so people can donate to help pay for her future vet bills as this may help her find that forever loving home she deserves.  I would gladly donate to it.

I agree and I would also help out. I was really touched by her story and would loved to have given her a home but our situation is not good for her at the moment having an 18 week old piranha pup who is constantly in Mollys face. The vets bills would have been a concern so a fund for her is a great idea.

If they could I'd certainly help out....

Me too. A lot of rescues do have a fund or will cover the older dog with medical problems as you cannot get insurance. If she stays in foster they would have to cover her bills. If they would agree to cover medication as it is said that surgery is not possible that would relieve a lot of people of the worry especially if they already have an older dog but would like to give Kilty a home.

As a number of people had said they felt a fund for Kiltys future medical bills may be beneficial I emailed them to see if it was feasible. The thread had gone quiet and I wasn't sure if anyone else had contacted them but they got back to me this morning. I asked if they were ok with me posting their reply here and this is what they said;

Hi
>
>Thank you for your email regarding Kilty.  We are a little confused as at
>the moment Kilty is not having medical treatment that would warrant a fund
>being set up for her.   We have not been contacted by the forum but do
>appreciate their kind efforts to try and help Kilty find a home.  She is
>currently very happy living in her foster home and we are sure there will be
>someone out there who will offer her a forever home soon.

I did say that it was regarding future vet bills and quite a few people felt it may help her finding a home. They seem, however quite confident she will find her forever home soon but they did say that if anyone was still concerned to contact the centre.

Thanks for sharing the reply of MT, Mark.
I wonder if anyone has come forward with an interest in Kilty as she does seem to have been with gorgeouspoppy for a long time now.
I know her foster mum is doing a fantastic job but it would be nice for her to have her own forever home soon :luv:
I do think the thought of future vet bills might put people off.  Although I would willingly give her a home if I was allowed ( unfortunately I don't fit the criteria as I work part time and my two dogs are quite lively) the thought of large future vet bills would be a consideration as I would be unable to get insurance cover for her.
As I have stated previously, I would happily donate towards this little girl's fund  :luv:

I have to say that my heart has ruled my head over Kilty. I would have her in a flash but luckily OH is the sensible one and pointed out we have an 18 week old puppy and a two and half year old who acts about as daft as the puppy.
