Bad mother alert....went ballistic today.....over chocolate
« on: February 07, 2010, 09:49:26 PM »
I 'm ashamed to say that I went absolutely crazy at DD today, I don;t normally shout .... and I did, I don't normally swear in front of her ....you'd think I invented it, and she was so shocked, and upset, she couldn't speak to my mum for crying.  But I was SOOOOO mad because ....

Today Tiffany is wearing 'eau du vomit' perfume....she ate at least 200g of dairy milk chocolate that my daughter left on a table in the lounge  >:D >:D . 20g for Tiffys weight is toxic.  We made an emergency trip to the vets where they made Tiffy sick, took her away an force fed her charcoal.  Poor little sweetie, after she'd chucked-up all over the consulting room (dragged her ears in it and trod in it) she could hardly walk and you couldn't see her eyes, just the red rims underneath.

Anyways, I always seem to remember the funny thing in any situation so,,,,, the vet had obviously NOT treated a docked cocker before.  After she came out, tail wagging (even after all she'd gone through, bless her) he said 'is her tail ok', I just said that yes it was very waggly and he said 'but when she wags it the hair on her bum and legs is moving, is that normal' I said that he should see her coming towards me with both bum and tail pointing in the same direction  :005: :005:

Bless my little love, she's had some cooked fish, been drinking water and is bright and sparky.  :luv: :luv: Hopefully my dd has learnt a lesson.  I've made her pay £35 towards the £144 vet bill.....too harsh?  And luckily it was dairy milk, cos dark chocolate is apparently worse.

Mods please move if needed  :D

Oh poor Tiffy, I'm glad she seems to be none the worse for wear for her experience :luv: I'm sure your daughter won't be leaving chocolate lying around again!

Nicola -don't you believe it!  DD is a law unto herself!

Was soooo mad cos it could have killed Tiff, and after loosing Fizzy 3 months ago, was more upset than I should have been I think.  Still, Tiff's ok, snoring beside me as I type  :luv: :luv:  And loving fish for tea and treats  :005:

Poor Tiffy, hope she will soon be over her experience.  :luv:
I understand why you lost it with your daughter as I went nuts with workmen who kept feeding Torin chocolate. >:D

thank you, yes, people don't realise I don;t think. DD's always leaving sweets, wrappers etc all over the place as well.  I came home one day after dd had been off sick and Tiff smelt of menthol sweets where dd had left a half eaten one a wrapper on the table  >:D >:D  DD is quite money oriented so hopefully that will make her think twice. Grrrrr

I am so glad that Tiff is ok  :-* It must have been an awful experience for all of you  :-*
I think your daughter will have taken it on board, even if she doesn't appear to have.

I certainly don't blame you for losing it with your daughter, poor Tiff could have died with that amount of chocolate. :'(

Hopefully, she will have learned her lesson, and will keep all sweets/chocolate/rubbish away from now on.

So glad Tiffy is ok, what a fright for you. :-*

Thank you, hopefully so, time will tell.  I told DD, as I went screaming out the door to the vets with a cocolate-full Tiffany trailing blissfully unaware in my wake, that anything else DD leaves lying around will end up on the front garden - wrappers, knickers, clothes etc.

Doggie bath tomorrow (after I've bought a bath mat!)  :D

I was really, really upset

Been there when Kali opened Mr Sheryl's soap bag and ate Anadin extra!  We went through the vet rush and vomit episode...she had diarrhoea too ph34r  Hope Tiff is feeling better now.  I would have done the same shouting wise...................in fact I did.....it is a wonder Mr Sheryl's eardrums didn't burst!

Snap!

My son left the bottom (he'd eaten the bell shape so it was just the bottom of it) of a Suchard milk chocolate Christmas bell on the kitchen table on Friday >:(. I got back from the school run with Dave to find the shredded gold foil scattered around Normy in their bed - chocolate is the ONLY thing she thieves and she's obsessed with it ::) She's been absolutely fine luckily as she's so big and it was only a palm sized amount of thinnish milk chocolate so it hasn't effected her but my son 'got it' too.. Roll on the summer when I can kick the lot of them out into the garden away from causing too much trouble in the house I say!!!!!!!!!!

Really glad she's ok - my last cocker ate a whole box of Terry's chocolate orange slices with my (then 2 yr old) son behind a sofa and he survived that without any intervention so she should be ok... brings a new definition to 'hyper cocker' though :o :o :o ::)
