Suitable small spaniel bowl for tiny pups
« on: February 26, 2010, 07:07:51 PM »
Hi, I've bought the ceramic spaniel bowl from Pets at Home but poor Odie's ears keep being dipped in the water each time as he's still so small (9 weeks).  Does anyone have any ideas about a smaller type spaniel bowl until he 'grows' into his big one!  :lol2:  Can't seem to find any smaller ones anywhere!

Also, does anyone else's pups/dogs take a few bits of dried food out of their bowl and eat it off the carpet?  My mam's whippet does this (we are always standing on pieces he's missed  :005:) and I couldn't believe it when Odie started doing the same!
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Hi Geordietyke,

Are you a Barnsley supporter? I have a season ticket down at Oakwell.

It's not actually such a bad thing that little Odie's ears droop into the water. If anything, this will only acclimatise him to such happenings in the future when he's charging through bushes and streams  :005:

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Simply give them a little dry when he's done if you feel it necessary, or just let him dry them off himself. He'll be fine.

Cheers.

Roxy also had a tiny wilkinsons plastic bowl when she was little, lasted til she outgrew it and it went to Dogs trust with lots of her other puppy thnings!

She now has a Chelsea FC bowl for eating and a chow bella bowl for water.

Yeah Alfie's constantly got soggy ears :005: we try and catch him most times with the towel, but not always so he will jump on your knee and get you soaked :005:. Not thought about getting a smaller bowl, but its not really a problem, he will soon grow into it ;) xxxx

Hi, no I support Toon Army (I'm from the North East originally)  :lol2:  My husband is a Barnsley lad and he sometimes goes down to watch them.  In fact we live about 3 mins away from Oakwell and can hear the crowds when the wind is a certain direction!  Will resign myself to soggy puppy ears for the time being, it certainly doesn't appear to bother him!  :005:
