We have 4 cockers  2 solids and  2 roans

My golden girl does have a few issues but she is not well bred   :-\ I resued her as a puppy and she has been teased beyond belief by teenagers.

I  would continue to do the research on  breeders and speak with people that have found the right breeders  :luv: then colour is of no concern  :luv:

Look forward to seeing pics of your new pup in the future

I have one of each and they both have their own little quirks and personalities. Its all down to breeding. When I talk to my dogs breeders I find that both dogs have a lot of traits of their parents.

I have an orange roan, a blue roan and a solid black............all are very different in character and nature.............but in a lovely way.  None are aggressive, and all are great with children and other dogs.

I think, as the others have said, it is all down to breeding rather than to colouring.

Good luck in finding your new dog.  Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Colour of pups is nothing to do with temperament - every pup's temperament is different, so like me who has 2 blue roans they are like chalk and cheese and despite their previous health issues, which are possibily down to breeding per se they have fantastic temperaments (I take them fundraising with me a lot and to similar events where they have to deal with loads of differetn situations and people which they do in their stride). I see loads of cockers out walking of all colours and they are all different in character and temperament but some of that I also see might be down to their owners as well and how they have handled them ;)

I certainly can't agree that it is all down to breeding.  Although genetic characterisitics play some part, inevitably the greatest influence on a dog's temperament is its upbringing.

My girls are both solid chocolates and they would rather lick you to death than be fierce. I think it depends on both breeding and upbringing.
