Is frozen meat ok?

Hi Everyone,

I bought some meat 'nuggets' and also meat chunks from UK Barf club (http://www.ukbarfclub.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=22).  I defrosted some of the chunks and nuggets and gave them to Milo but he wouldn't eat them, just sniffed them and walked away. But... I also tried giving them to him frozen and he loves them and now comes running every time he hears the freezer drawer open.  I haven't given him much as I was worried that eating frozen food would be bad for him. Does anyone know?

Hi Jo,

George and Hamish often have frozen chicken wings or carcasses and lamb's hearts, when i have forgotten to take them out of the freezer the night before ph34r like Milo, they absolutely love them. I don't think it will cause any problems, but i am sure that someone will come along to correct me if i am wrong. :shades:

On the Natural Instinct website it says it is fine to feed frozen (they suggest leaving it at room temperature for 30 minutes first) and say it can be beneficial on hot days.  :D

I don't think it is a problem to feed the nuggets frozen although as already mentioned I would suggest they be left for a little while at least at room temperature.  If Mason eats things that are very cold (including carrots straight from the fridge) then he often brings it back up so it obviously doesn't agree with him  :o

Sorry for slow reply I have been away. thanks for all the feedback, I feel more reassured now and will keep using the frozen meat but will defrost a bit first.
