Talking of irresponsible dog owners. Yesterday I was walking Annie up our usual bridleway and called her back as a woman and a staffie I disn't recognise were approaching. I assumed the staffie was friendly as he wasn't on a lead, but as I didn't know him put Annie on her lead anyway. As the other dog passed he suddenly charged at Annie and attacked her; he was all over her in seconds and she was screaming

Thank god he suddenly stopped before Annie was physically injured, although she was shaking like a leaf, and his owner put him on his lead. She was most apologetic and said "I'm so sorry, he hasn't done that for ages" Then she showed me her device and proudly explained how she had given him an electric shock which is why he had stopped attacking Annie so suddenly
So this woman clearly knew her dog had a history of attacking other dogs and yet didn't put him on a lead even though she saw Annie and I approaching from about 100 yards away, then when he DID attack used an electric shock collar to control him. Some people REALLY shouldn't have dogs
