Not advise based on anything scientific but Maggie has Nature Diet in the morning and then JWB in the evening..... seems to work for her although she could do with losing a bit at the moment I think thats down to reduced exercise following surgery so as we're increasing that daily I'm hoping that will come off.

I had planned to reply to your PM today, but as you've started a thread I thought it easier to reply on here!

Honey is fed 100% raw food.  I had intended to go half and half initially, but Honey wasn't having any of it!!  :005:
Feeding a raw diet isn't as compicated as it seems at first... I have gone from frantically planning, working out ratios of meat to bone, and different sorts of meat and offal etc, liquidising loads of veg, adding in cottage cheese and other things, to just feeding whatever meat we have got out for her (ensuring she gets a variety, and gets liver most weeks) and adding the odd cube of veg when I feel like it...
This has just come from experience of raw feeding, and hearing how others feed.
I did a lot of research at first, so I know what I was starting with - Billinghurst's book is an excellent start, but his model is much more complicated than most people feed.  (He suggests milk, pasta and legume meals in addition to the meat and bone based meals - I started out following this, but soon learned other people fed nothing but meat and bones, with excellent results, so gradually relaxed into that model...)  I would also recommend joining the Yahoo BritBarf group - there are various examples of a weekly diet on their files, and there are members who feed a wide variety of raw feeding models... including some who do half and half with another food source (kibble, or pet-food meat).

If you need to know any more, just ask - I tend to be busier towards the end of the week, but I won't ignore you!!!

The only thing I would add is, if you do begin raw feeding, do so gradually - don't introduce loads of different raw foods at once... it took us weeks to build up to the full variety!  :D
