Please could somebody advise me what colour puppies I could expect to get from a Blue roan bitch mated to a sable boy. I believe the Blue roan is the dominant gene and the pups will probably be all black.  Is this correct?

No way to really know  :dunno: You don't say what the colours parents of the mated pair were, but no, I don't think you'll necessarily get all black, you will probably have some blue roans (possibly more darkly marked) or some mismarked solids, and who knows what else?!

It might be better to ask the stud dog owner. If they're offering a dog at stud, they ought to have a good idea about colour inheritance & pedigrees so they can advise bitch owners on what colours their dog carries & what he might produce mated to particular bitches. But like Spanielcrazy says, there's no real way of knowing unless you know for sure what colours & patterns are carried by each parent eg a solid sable can produce roans if he carries the relevant gene & is mated to a particolour.

Hi - thanks for the responses - the bitches mother was chocolate roan & tan, dad was black and white grandparents blue roan, black & white, orange & white, great grandparents blue roan, tricolour, chocolate roan, chocolate roan & tan and black & white so quite a mix.  The sable dog is a young stud so hard to tell.
