Vaccination costs
« on: June 10, 2010, 03:23:03 PM »
So I have only 4 days to go before my Yuki joins me. Had a bit of a shock as title suggests about vaccination costs. I've checked the searches and seems I can't find relevant info  ;)

The vet I'm registered with charges £76.49  :o for the course of puppy jabs? Is this the going rate? Money isn't an issue but is it worth shopping around or sticking with what I know?

I'm so excited! Its going to drag so much  :'(

That seems expensive!  ph34r
My vet charges about £40 from what I remember. What part of the country are you in?

That's about what we paid - but we did get the last one free as my last vets messed up...if we had paid, it would have been around that - our vet charges £21 before you even get in to the consulting room!

Ellie had to have her vaccinations started again (didn't have a complete set when she was a puppy).  She had the first one a couple of weeks ago and that was £21 and she is due her 2nd shortly and that is another £20 or so.

£76 is that for life - I know some vets offer this.

My vet charges about £80 for a full course of vaccinations and that's a one-off, not for life. They're expensive but they're a really good vet (they'd need to be :005:). We're in Edinburgh.

I'm in New Milton, Hampshire, and my vet charges £31 for each jab, so the total is £62 (but the puppy check is free, and you get a month's free PetPlan insurance).

It does sound about average tbh.  :shades:  We are in Hampshire & our vets charged £37 for the one vaccine on Alfie 2 months ago.  They do make me laugh though, because they def. add on more money for a supposed check up, which just consisted of weighing him!!  :o
With a puppy though, they have their 1st vaccine & two weeks later they have a 2nd , so all in all i don't think your vet is hugely expensive.
I always order my wormers online, as the vet is quite a bit more expensive.  ;)

My vet is charging £24 for Bellas 2nd jab; the breeder had the first one done. I'm in Gateshead.
