scent marking indoors

How can I prevent this? Morgan is a good, clean boy at home but in other people's homes there is a problem >:D For example, he has twice peed in his groomer's home and when we went to visit a dog boarder, he peed in the hall. Tactics so far are to make him pee before we go inside and/or to take him through the house to make him pee in the garden/yard so that he knows where it is acceptable to pee.

Next weekend we're going to see our son's new house that he and his fiancee have just moved into, it'll be a long day so Morgan is going with us and I obviously don't want him marking the day in more ways than one :shades: To add to the mix the future in-laws will also be there with their castrated labrador who Morgan has never met, although he loves labs whenever we meet them on our walks.

It's very likely that he is marking spots that have been peed on before. Best solution is to keep him on lead when he is visiting, or restrict him to just the room that you are in (even if it means hauling along your own baby gate  ph34r :005:) or using a crate.  ;)

I have the same problem with my small terrier. We take him for a walk before he goes anywhere and then he wears a band around his tummy made from a soft stretchy material with a tena pad inside. It goes around his tummy and fastens with velcro. We make sure he gets lots of opportunities to pee etc but it saves an awful lot of embarressing moments! Even if he is on his lead he still can drip drip very quickly and ruin an all wool carpet in seconds! I made the band out of a soft towelling material which is stretchy.
