Bless my boy!
« on: September 23, 2010, 09:38:11 PM »
I decided I need to brush up my clicker skills, and stretch Charlie's gray matter. My first objective was for Charlie to put his toys "away" in a box (inspired by Marks Bayley). He caught on to this very quickly and was happily putting his toys in the box, until it came to a pink squeaky ball, he decided he didn't want to part with, but wanted his click and treat, his solution was to stand in the box holding the ball! Smart or stupid? you decide  :005:

He's a clever, clever boy indeed.... they never cease to amaze me, when I watch how Maggie's brain works sometimes and the "logic" she applies... its quite amazing!

I have dogs that pick up each others poo, although I'd rather they didn't :005: :005: >:D

Charlie is a clever boy indeed. I'm still learning just how smart Cockers are. Posie picks up some tricks but not others, then out of nowhere demonstrates an understanding of what I was unsuccessfully trying to teach her. They seem to prefer to work things out to their benefit rather than just immitate. I think this means they need "special" training methods.

We've started to teach Posie the "toys in the box" trick, but so far she has only figured out the "toys out of the box" part.

Her current obsession is hiding socks. Finding them on command is a different game altogether.
