We went to the vet's yesterday for a checkup for Dolly. The vet wants to see her every month or so to keep an eye on her progress because she was in such bad shape when she first came here.
Last time we went, our usual vet was busy, so we saw a different vet. He was very nice but hadn't seen Dolly before, so he couldn't comment on her progress.
Yesterday, we saw Lisa, our normal vet and she couldn't believe that Dolly was the same dog she saw just a few weeks ago, she's making such huge progress

She still hasn't put any weight on, but Lisa said that last time she examined her, Dolly's ribs, hips and spine were really prominent. This time, although she could feel the bones, she had to sort of press in a bit to feel them. She said her muscle tone is excellent now.
Pansy came along too, just as moral support for Dolly, but we popped her on the scales to see how her diet is going, and Pansy has lost another 300 grammes

. That's 1100 grammes she's lost altogether. She really needs to lose about another Kilo, but at least she's heading in the right direction

After such a successful vet visit, I took them both for a really lovely walk at Thornton Reservoir (we really should try to have an East Midlands meet there sometime). It was a beautiful day and we had a fabulous time, Dolly had never been before and Pansy hadn't been there for a few months.
