So sorry you have had to come to this decision, I know it must be heartbreaking, but as others have said it is a totally selfless thing to do and Murron is lucky that you are her mum and that you have been strong enough to make the best choice for her.  She is old enough to never forget you and all the wonderful times she has had with you and her doggy family, but young enough to embrace her new working life and for you to know she will be fulfilled and happy

I agree. It sounds like Murron has a really great place waiting for her  :luv:

W.Cockers temperaments vary so much, Rio would make a hopeless working dog bless her and is the laziest lapdog at home but I do, at times wonder whether I've held Roxy back from a working life.  They are related but are chalk and cheese.

Firstly, I would like to say thank you all very much for you support, it is very much appreciated, you are amazing people.

I took Murron to start her new life on Friday, but not before we had a good blast on the beach together, she had a ball  :luv: she knew something was amiss and was unusually cuddly all week.

When I got back home after settling her in; I had an e-mail and photo waiting for me from the gamekeepers wife, what a lovely thing to do. Murron was sitting smiling with one of their other cockers' who has the same father as Murron.

I'm trying to stay upbeat about this, so I won't say too much more, I know Murron will have an amazing life and I am very fortunate that I will be able to see her a lot. Hard as that may be, it is so strange without her and I miss her like mad but, she is going to be a very happy girl indeed.

I love that you can still see her lots and keep in touch :luv:

When I rehomed my Weim, I did the same for the lady that had her for the first two years of her life and I wanted to too because I know how hard I'd find it totally loosing touch with a dog if I had to rehome one. It worked really well for us although she decided she didn't want to see her again as she thought it would be too hard on her children, but she really enjoyed lots of emails and pics and was also very useful when I had a health issue with her. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it keeping in touch through a private re-home can be a really really good thing for everyone concerned - with the right people/right dog and right circumstances and it certainly sounds like that's the case with all of you :luv: :luv:
