Interfering neighbour - barking.
« on: April 24, 2011, 01:38:56 PM »
Tali still has SA. I'm working on it but it's a slow process.

Yesterday for the first time in weeks, the OH and I went out for some lunch and left Tali at home. We heard him bark on our way out but not when we got back. We went indoors and after Tali had a quick wee at the tree, we went back upstairs for a cup of tea and played with Tali.

About an hour after arriving home we took him for a walk. We came across two neighbours sitting on the lawns outside who said hello to Tali and saw my OH's bags, he was going home after the walk.

Mrs Bischon, who owns Barney, proceeded to tell us Tali had been barking all afternoon, (we didn't go out til just before 2pm and were back by 3.45pm), and they gathered we were home as he's finally stopped. My OH said he hadn't been barking when we got home and I told her we had actually been home an hour. She then started questioning whether he barked if mum was there and I wasn't, in truth I actually don't know as I'm not there.

I'm going to have to leave the video camera on to see next time I go shopping.

I explained it's seperation anxiety and what I was doing to solve it but it's a slow process, but she wasn't interested as she just ignored everything I said and suggested some sort of electric barking collar. My OH asked her nicely if she had ever felt the shock from one of those and when she said no, he told her it was bloody painful. Her reply was "Well, if it stops him barking...."

I can see we are going to have alot of problems from this bint.  >:D

Eeek sounds like you could be in for a bumpy ride but tbh I can kinda see where she is coming from, I have a similar problem with one of my neighbours- their noisy dog and equally noisy kid, I hate it when the parents are out and could quite happily strangle dog and child if I thought it would make them quieter ph34r  Keep working on the SA and as for the neighbour you have explained what you are trying to do so keep on as you are and try not to let them bother you

I wouldn't mind but her dog barks quite a bit too. Plus she is constantly going on about why am I not doing this and why am I not doing that with regards mum.

She has had six dogs in the time I've had three and several of them barked when she has been out. She doesn't even live next door to me; she is downstairs on the other side of the block. She only heard Tali because I had the windows open.

He is noisey, I can't deny that but reversal of bad behaviours doesn't take five minutes.

She has bought her flat on the ground floor with the car park directly outside, and she complains about the car fumes. Hello?

play her at her own game, when you see her go out, catch her on the way back and say your dogs been barking for ages and see what she says then, a bit cheeky i know but it might make her think

Really sorry but i have to say I agree. Its not just when your out as you have posted topics saying how much Talis barking when your in gets to you so TBH I cant imagine living below him.

Although i completley disagree with the methods she wants you to use I can can see why shes frustrated and maybe a bit of understanding on where shes coming from would go a long way

Agree away.  :D

She doesn't live below us and her dog seriously attacked and drew blood from Keli. Do I care for her feelings? Not really  ;)

She only heard Tali because I had the windows open.

I close the windows when I go out, so that Bella's barking is less likely to upset the neighbours.  ;)
And I'd be incredibly apologetic if any of them complained.
