Hi, I work from home so slightly different, but I know that if she is anywhere near me when I'm working she will want my attention, rather than going to sleep.  Molly gets walked by hubby in the morning before he goes to work so I start my work early, then 9:30-1:30 she sleeps in her crate downstairs in the kitchen (usually she whines for a wee around 11ish) rather than being upstairs with me in my office.  Then 1:30-3ish she has my undivided attention, before going back in her crate from 3-4, and then I usually give up work after that (I'm doing a PhD).

Is there anywhere you can put her so she can't see/hear you?

Oh yes, in relation to pudding's reply, just wanted to add that my Molly is only 6 months old...over time she will spend more time with me in the office and less time in her crate

Max is 7 months and he is only just learning to settle on his bed on the same room as me. He is fine if I put in crate or utility room and leave him but if I am in the same room he potters about. I have been ignoring him and he has just started to take himself to his bed and lie down with a chew. I think it is probably an age thing and hope they will get better at it as they get older.
