Hi All

Please could anyone tell me if the kennel club accept results from
Genomia. I have been looking into the different options for dna testing,
and alot of breeders/show people in other breeds use this company.
As i understand it, the kc will accept the Fn test from other companies,
but there stand on the pra test used to be they couldnt accept because
of optigens patent. Is this still the case ?..... and has anyone in cockers
ever used them ?

As far as i'm aware the KC will only accept the prcd-PRA tests from Optigen  :shades:
Not too sure about the FN test exc. ours was tested with Antagene.  :-\
Hopefully Jane (one of the mods) will be able to confirm this.  :blink:

The KC will accept results from other labs but think the situation is still only Optigen prcd_PRA results for UK resident dogs will be added to their official database and appear on a dog's registration due to the legalities of the patent issue. Things do change though so always worth emailing or ringing the KC if you wanted confirmation of this.
