Tilly in for her Spey
« on: April 18, 2012, 11:24:14 AM »
Dropped Tilly off at the vets this morning for her spey and i am now pacing the floor...patiently waiting until midday to call and see if she is ok.
I know she will be fine but you cannot help but worry about our babies.
Have got her baby vest ready to put on when she comes home and a little chicken for her dinner and brought her crate into the living room.
Must say Erin seems to be loving having me to herself and is snuggled up on the couch

It's the wait that's a mare ;)
You sound all prepared for
her getting home.
I do hope she is not too
uncomfortable and is back
with you very soon :D
gentle squeezes to Tilly :luv:

Hated our spay day, but all will be fine. Keep nice and busy. Can't be too long now before you pick her up.

Got phone call at 11.45 to say she was out of op and had come round from aneasthetic very quickly and could i go collect her as she was ok and he nurse said she thought she just wanted to go home as she had been howling and barking and would not settle....i could hear her giving it her all in the background  :005:
When i got to the vets i could hear her loud and clear and receptionist even said she was driving them all potty  :005: thats ma girl.
She now home and appears very very unsettled pacing around...has toileted so popped her in her crate but she seems very agitated and crying quite loudly.
I so hope she starts to settle soon...hate to see my baby so upset

Has she had some pain killers?

Yes she had painkilling injection before i picked her up and they gave me some for the next 4 days but i not to give her any until tomorrow morning.
She has not settled at all since she came home...have tried her snuggled beside me on couch ...in her crate...in bed on the floor but has not lay still for more than a couple of minutes. Has been out and did toilet twice since she got home.
She just seems really agitated and is crying loudly.
I really hope she settles soon....i getting more upset as time passes as i cannot seem to comfort her at all

Linzi,
I hate to tell you this but
when we had Ellie and Pepper
spayed Ellie cried and squeed for hours
after, she didn't settle til the early
hours of next morning and wouldn't
be comforted either(Pep was fine!)
When she eventually slept and then
woke up she was fine, for her it
was clearly getting over the anaesthetic
not crying in pain, but not nice all the
same :016:

Glad that everything went well for Tilly.   She is quite sore at the moment and given time she will be back to herself.

Hugs from Megan and myself to you both.

Thankyou for the reassurance...have no problem being with her all night if that is what is required. Erin was neither up nor down with hers so feel awful for putting my little one through this...but i am hopeful she will settle eventually.

She is a lot better today thank the lord. She seemed to pick up after she had a small bite to eat....i think she was starving  :005:. Continued to pace and look distressed until around 8pm when she looked shattered.
I think you were right that it was the side effects of anaesthetic rather than in pain...as she seemed more frightened than anything else.
She slept through the night...even kept her baby vest on and has just demolished her breakfast hoover style :005:
I have given her the painkiller as well even though she showing no signs of pain but dont want to take the chance .

Thank you once again for the reassurance x
