Poor Mia (again)
« on: May 26, 2012, 07:52:53 PM »
We decided to go to our local park this evening with phoebe and mia so that they could have a good run round with the other dogs  :luv:
well everything was going great with them both until we set off back to go home ph34r. As we started to walk back home my OH saw this chap and his staffy (not on lead) not too far away from us. Phoebe and Mia were still off lead at this time so we didn't have chance to put them back on ph34r. The staffy a big white male saw my two and dropped to the ground, so phoebe and mia went to say hello :luv: not barking or being giddy just went over and sat in front of him, the next thing we knew was this bleep bleep staffy lunged at Mia  :o snapping and snarling so I quickly got her lead on and tried to walk away :o but no this bloody staffy wasn't having it >:D once again it was snapping and snarling so this time I picked her up :o this big dog meant business  >:D the owner however did nothing just stood there while his dog did this  >:D after I picked mia up he didn't even say sorry  >:D just called his dog over to him and very casually put him back on lead and walked off  >:D >:D Now normally I would have given him both barrels but I was gobsmacked :o at his attitude  >:D
My OH half has now said that's it we will not be taking our two dogs to that park again it's not fair on Mia being frightened like that, this is the second and last time that a bloody staffy is having a go at my dogs  >:D >:D
sorry for the long rant but I'am quite upset over this it has frightened me  >:D >:D x x x

Poor Mia

There is a gorgeous Basset Hound on my road and he has been the victim or 2 awful attacks in the past month.  Both occasions requiring stitches, the first time he needed 16 of them.  His owners have been really shaken up by this and are now too scared to walk Colin off lead..  Colin is such a sweet natured dog.  The second time he was attacked, the dog jumped a 6ft fence to attack him.  The owners generally do nothing.  Not only will I not walk my dogs down that particular road, but I am really scared about taking the kids out for a walk, which is a shame as there is a really good play area there.

Oh Di,  :bigarmhug: hope Mia is OK.  What can I say?  You know my sentiments................  We encountered a staffie today, he was on lead and was sniffing Toby.  I was busy trying to get Toby away and the owner said " staffies tend to play hard" oh yeh...................................

So sorry that you had such a horrible end to you walk. :bigarmhug:

Its so frustrating when idiot dog owners  >:D spoil things for everyone.

I hope Mia (and you) aren't too shaken up by it all. :bigarmhug:

Poor Mia and poor you  :bigarmhug:

Something similar happened to my poor Dexter the other day, except we seem to have problems with lurchers or greyhounds. This lurcher dog came bounding out of nowhere and went for Dex who promptly squealed, but it just wouldn't leave him alone. His owner appeared and her attitude was "well you are walking past his his house what do you expect" - err excuse me, we are walking past his house on a public footpath to a park, we weren't in his house! Some people  >:D

The exact same thing happened when Brodie was attacked by a staffie - the owner said nothing and just walked off >:D Drives me mad >:(. It is frightening - I went into shock and burst into tears ph34r. I was just so taken aback by the owner's attitude.

Hope Mia is ok and you both get over this :bigarmhug:

Oh no Dianne...poor girlie.

I always worry about my two when we are out.  They go gushing up to say hello to all the dogs they meet.  Luckily, for them, they have not had a bad experience.

I hope you are all ok now....it is really upsetting when these things happen. Xxxxxx
