Barking at tv, when dogs are on.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to stop this, every time there is a dog on TV Hattie starts to bark. It does not matter if the dogs is barking or not. It's got to the point were we are turning the sound off just I case there is any barking, I no this is not the answer but don't no how to stop this behaviour.

Our girl Lady likes to bark at the tv.....but she likes to bark at any animal...even Wallace and Gromit!

Riley will sometimes bark at dogs on tv, he barked at shrek the other night too :luv:
He also backs off and barks at the cocker spaniel on the front of our cocker book . Oh and we have a little tiny cocker ornament which he barks at too  :luv:

Oh I so share your pain  >:D

It seriously affects our program choices! We always have to fast forward the starting credits of Downton Abbey because of that blooming labrador and the Queen's corgis on Friday night were a nightmare. Even that stupid car insurance advert with the animated dogs driving the cars gets Florence going. Will definitely be looking at the link (thank you!) and watching closely for other advice!

Charlie doesn't, he doesn't bark but he does stop and watch, his favourite programme is country file lol

Hi

Our Lottie does the same, we swear she can tell the difference between dogs and cats.  What we do is put our hand over her eyes and hold her firmly telling her NO!

We also throw her a ball or chew toy and tell her shush and she will then shake the toy with a quiet growl until the dog has gone.

I think she thinks it is a window and she is chasing the dogs away and of course she is always successful as the dogs do always go  :D

You have to be consistent though so if you are watching the telly try having her close so you can be ready.
We have never cured it but have reduced it and made it bearable. Good Luck
