Dog not very well

I live in Enfield Middx but we're going away on 23rd Aug for one week, He's a blue roan and he is still a full dog, we have not had him done yet, he is a lovely dog very bouncy and full of life (when he gets back to his old self) He never has an accident in the house, ideally i'd prefer someone that would just like a companion for the week, rather than anyone involved in a business.  I like the people i left him with but maybe they have too many dogs.

Aww it's a pity your not near me as my girls go to someone who looks after dogs in her own home and she just adores cockers. I'am in yorkshire btw x x x

I'm in Herts, near Potters Bar / St Albans
We have recently had to re-organize our whole summer hols, thanks to OH work 
I recently spent a couple of days phoning all the kennels in the area,  I'm not happy with the idea of home boarding ( but what suits one person doesn't suit another)
I'm a really big fan of our local kennels, they're lovely.   And they're not cheap but OH and I now both agree it's our local kennels or nothing and I couldn't recommended them highly enough.    The feeling is mutual Darwin loves all the staff and they love him

Normally over the busy periods you have to book months and months in advance but I've managed to get Darwin in from a week from the 22nd.  They do insist on a valid kennel cough vaccination so please PM me if you would like the details

Have you got a friend that likes dogs that could come and stay in your house with him? Just a suggestion as this is what I did this year and boy ooo boy the dogs were great

My friend brought her 9 month old pup with her and the dogs had a blast (Friend is retired tho) Also ask in your local pet shop about dog sitters as you may find that there is someone willing to come in and live in your house and look after your dog

I am looking into this but most of my friends are away themselves around this time, and not keen leaving a stranger in my house so hard to find some one at such short notice.

As soon as I read your post I thought of my friends dog who would be in a huff for days when they returned from holiday. Then realising it may be more serious I could only wish you good news from the vets [as I don't know enough about dogs to comment] and the news does seem good, thankfully.

You'd better spoil him big style if your going to leave him again shortly

If you're still looking for someone for home-boarding, I know a great person who lives in hemel hempstead. He's looked after my two cockers several times when we've gone away, and has two spaniels himself. He's a dog trainer for the Met police and does loads of other dog training on the side, we've always been really pleased with him and it takes away the stress of having to leave our beloved dogs.

Thanks everyone for your concern, I will be taking him for another check on Thursday (ouch..costing a fortune but we have to get him sorted out) although he seems to be improving he is still straining a lot to do runny poo, his breathing sounds better but his nose is still very dry,  his eyes are wide open now and look much better but still gunk forming and a still a bit sore looking.  How the people i left him with did not notice any of those symptoms is beyond me. Thanks again, nice to know there are people that care. I am going to PM you fr1day.
