Its far too quiet....
« on: August 16, 2012, 01:17:29 PM »
I dropped Pippa off at the Vets this morning to be spayed and the house seems far too quiet - even with two children around!

Got to phone at 2pm so hopefully will be able to pick her up this afternoon.

She was rather nervous when the vet was checking her over beforehand so they gave her the injection to make her sleepy whilst I was still there cuddling her then I carried her to the crate. She didn't bark though like last week! (It was delayed from last week as she had some signs of a phantom pregnancy but that had all cleared today).

Next job will be keeping her quiet!

Glad she's through. It's a great relief when it's all done and dusted. Hated our spay day but sooo chuffed once we were all well again. No more seasons  :cool4:

Roxy was spayed about 5 weeks ago, after a couple of quiet days she soon got back to her normal self and we were trying to keep, her off the chairs etc! Luckily I was at work on the day so was kept busy, but you can't help but worry. I felt like crying when I went to pick her up I was so relieved.

Hoping you have a peaceful night and you little was is soon back on her feet.

Love Sally and Roxy x

Still far too quiet but at least she is home and is now curled up on her bed in the corner of the kitchen watching me.

No stitches to remove but back on monday for postop check and annual boosters.

They gave me a head collar in case she starts fussing the wound but said she hasn't been bothering it so to see if we need it.

Can fed her as normal this evening but she doesn't seem bothered at the moment. Same with water. Just wants to sleep. :luv:

Glad to hear Pippa is home safe, it is a long day without them isn't it?!

Jem was spayed a few weeks ago, she didn't want to eat that evening but was pretty much back to normal by the next day.

The days will fly by until she is all healed up and back to normal :)

She is still looking at me with a sad face making me feel guilty, but is eating well and its interspersed with periods of wagginess.

Will be back to see the vet on monday anyway for post op checkup which we be reassuring.

Well, as she started getting back to her normal tricks she has starting licking her wound too much and its a bit swollen. Now got antibiotics & cream from the vets and she is sulking because she has a buster collar on...   :embarassed:

Have you tried a children's t-shirt on her? It usually works to stop them bothering the wound and they then don't need to wear the buster collar.  ;)
