Blood spots in poop
« on: September 15, 2012, 08:23:01 AM »
Hi everyone, my 12 week cocker has had spots of blood in her poo a few times. She is eating well, playing and running around she is fine in her self. I feed her Royal canin as the vet advised, but I find this worrying any ideas.

Was this the food she was on when you got her?  Changing food too quickly will cause tummy problems, you need to change over very very slowly.

Just got back from the vets with Lily, he thinks she has got to much bad bacteria in her gut, so she has had an injection and 10 day course of antibiotics. This will wipe out all bacteria and hopefully her gut will balance out and be ok. So fingers crossed.

Hope the antibiotics sort Lily out.  My dog was passing blood a couple of months ago and also had antibiotics and some probiotics which sorted it out.  We have found that he has a sensitive tummy, so have to be careful what we feed him now.
