Tilly is not herself
« on: September 19, 2012, 04:37:42 PM »
As the title says Tilly is a little under the weather. Yesterday she appeared a little lethargic and slept quite a bit of the day but was eating, drinking, pooing and weeing as normal. On 3 occasions overnight she was crying to get out and appeared to be straining to do a poo however it was just watery diawotsits ( her poos have been the same solid consistency since the day I brought her home). She has further episodes throughout the day( though with a little more substance to it) and apart from a little breakfast we have not gave her anything else to eat. She is drinking plenty water...but is really miserable looking  :'(. She is showing no signs of pain in tummy area.

Poor girl is on chicken and rice for dinner tonight....really hope she picks up as I cannot stand to see her look so unhappy.

:bigarmhug:'s for your lovely girl... everything crossed its a 24hr bug and she'll be right as rain tomorrow.  In the meantime, lots of TLC prescribed and being dispensed by the sounds of it  :luv:

Watch for mucus and/or blood in the poo - it could be the start of colitis.  Chicken and rice is a good idea, but i'd take her to the vet if it doesn't clear up quickly.  Sending  :bigarmhug:

Yes we doing that...have plenty experience with colitis as Erin 7yrs has had bouts of this on and off since she was a pup. Thankfully no signs of blood or mucus. She has just been again and looking a little more solid but will stick with chicken and rice tonight regardless...dont think she be happy though as loves her grub  :005:

Sorry, didn't mean to sound patronising, only by your initial question, I thought you were a fairly new to the game!  ph34r

Hope it's nothing more than a little tummy upset and she will be back to normal tomorrow.   :luv:  It's so upsetting to see them off colour.

Diawotsits seem to have stopped though poos still a little soft . She still not as lively as she normally is. At least she slept all night with no accidents though....however Erin who is 7 now has diawotsits >:D so can only conclude they picked up some sort of bug or have scavenged the same item of foodstuff  So it chicken and rice on the menu tonight again...just need to make sure no blood etc as Erin has a very sensitive tummy and is prone to colitis.
Hubby and I are like the poo police at the moment  :005:

Thank you all for your concern x

Certainly sounds like a bug if they've both got it now.  Hope they are better soon.  :luv:
