Teal at the vets
« on: October 21, 2012, 08:28:42 PM »
We took Teal to the vets on Saturday, I noticed some stiffness in her back leg on Friday when  she got up after each sleep, after being up and about for a few minutes Teal was OK and running around normally

Vet thought it might be growing pains at first but found her knee joint was slightly clicky, she is on anti inflammatory meds and we have to take her back in 5 days if still the same we will get her in for an x ray.

Vet asked us to keep her quiet with very little exercise for a week, I wished the vet would have told us how you keep a 4 month working cocker quiet lol

I don't envy you having to keep Teal quiet for a week. Does she like chews or Kongs? They would help.

I hope the quiet week does the trick and that she doesn't need any further investigations or treatment :D

Sending lots of positive thoughts for Teal :luv: :luv: i hope you manage to keep her calm for the week, as Elaine has suggested, perhaps try her with some stuffed kongs or chews ;)

Arrived home last night to find the OH looking a bit drained to be told she's better. Its really weird as Teals  leg was very stiff on it Tuesday night and still stiff when she climbed out of her crate yesterday morning.
She is definitely back to her old self, we are still trying to limit what she does but it seems she has stored all of her energy up, I took her out for a wee in the garden and she proceeded to do garden laps flat out and was determined to not let me stop her. No sign of any stiffness last night and this morning she leaped out of her crate like an Olympian out of the blocks, today is the last of her meds so fingers crossed no vets or x ray this weekend but we will continue to the best of our ability to keep her "quiet and calm"
