Sorry Sue but only just seen this.  So glad Clover is OK and back home.  It was the best thing to get rid of the dratted seed.

By the way, I love the pic of Clover in your avatar - she looks soooo grown up.  :luv:

Well, Clover is home, had a wee outside straight away, then settled down for a sleep. Later had a little bit of white fish, then later still a small amount of chicken and rice, and just now some white fish and rice. She was then whingeing and looking at her special treat box so against my better judgement I gave her a tiny piece off the end of one of her meaty treats. Probably not the best thing to give after an anaesthetic but she took it, ate it and has gone back to bed now!

The nurse at the vets, when I took Clover in, had written down the wrong armpit to operate on, >:(  on the consent form, which luckily I noticed and brought to the receptionist's attention before I signed the form, and when I brought Clover home I suddenly realised that although they had given her a pain relief injection they had not given me any antibiotics for her.  :o Rang and queried it and they admitted they had forgotten to hand them to me, along with pain relieving Metacam tablets for tomorrow. Luckily one of the receptionists lives in my village and has now just dropped them off for me as the antibiotics need to be started tonight. Normally she would have been working mornings but was standing in for the evening shift, so able to pop them in on her way home. Pretty poor show, though, I thought, especially as I am an ex member of staff there! Lol!

Anyhow, no walkies for two days, then lead walks only, check up after 5 days, and stitches out ten days from now. Clover is going to be stir crazy  >:D  not being able to run free in her fields and hills! They did find a grass seed within the mass that they removed so hopefully now it can all heal up properly and not erupt again! I am going to post a couple of pics of her taken soon after I brought her home - she looks a bit dejected to say the least! She is not keen on the Comfy Collar but it is so much nicer than a Buster collar, and rather like a built in pillow for her head!

Thanks Mel for your compliment on my avatar, and everyone else for their kind words - oh and Bibby, Clover is in her own bed on the floor - not allowed on the sofa at the best of times  :shades: but the instruction for her after care is - do not let your dog jump up on furniture or run upstairs, blah, blah, blah! ;) However, I have been sitting on the floor with her, letting her rest her tired head in my hand,  :luv: so I am a kind owner really!!! Lol!

Pleased to hear it went ok at the vets and the pesky seed has been removed with the lump.

I am sure she will be back to her cocker mischief soon, especially with you as her personal nurse ;)

Hey Sue - I thought it was only me was that was cruel and didnt allow my dogs on the sofa! But at least she has had lots of snuggles, so I think you are a lovely dog owner even though you now probably have a stiff bottom from sitting on the floor - I know how that feels! Glad to hear Clover is doing well, and btw agree its a poor show from the vets, as if you hadn't been on the ball you culd have ended up with an unneccesary op!

Clover had a good night - she didn't wake us up, anyhow, and was raring to go at 6.30 this morning when I crawled down the stairs. I have given her some gentle indoor games: roll the ball (instead of throw and fetch which she enjoys with great gusto!), and find the carrot, and very gentle tuggy games, also she did the 'steal-the-duster-and-take-it-to-my-bed-and-cuddle-it' game which is a great favourite of hers! She is NOT going to understand that when my sister arrives this afternoon there is going to be NO walkies.... :(  Later I will do some 'headwork' with her and make her use her brain to help tire her - hopefully!

She's had her antibiotics and her pain relief, eaten a good breakfast, and generally carried on as per normal today. I noticed she has 6 stitches in her wound which is 1.5 inches long and I am making her wear the comfy collar because as soon as I take it off to give her a break she is slurping away at the wound which is slightly more to the front of her armpit, unfortunately, which means she can get at it quite easily by just bending down her head.

@Bibby: Do you really not let yours on the sofa?! I thought I was the only one who doesn't so it's good to know there is another like minded CoLer! I do quite often kneel, sit or lie on the floor with Clover to keep her company, and my OH also does it so we don't feel too bad about keeping her at ground level!

Here's a piccie of her earlier this morning, surveying part of her territory. She has got used to the Comfy Collar quite quickly, as she has worn it before, when she was spayed at the age of 6 months.

Roll on Tuesday evening when she goes for her check-up!

Aww, glad that Clover is on the mend. That comfy collar looks great. I wish we'd known about it when our Loki's tail was poorly and he had to wear a collar for about three months (with the resulting damage to shins and furniture!)

Hi Sue - no I seriously dont let them on the sofa! Poppy is black so you can tell where she has been by the trail of hair, and the new puppy is chocolate so no doubt it will be the same story. They are not allowed on the bed either! Poppy has a favourite spot next to the arm of the sofa where hubby and I stroke her for a while, but she soon just lays on our feet - that way she can follow us as soon as we move! Unfotunately Poppy is not at all ladylike, and anything she can find to dig or roll in is great, the dirtier the better so I don't really want my sofa covered in hair and smelling of poo, cruel Mummy that I am!
